Bridge Load Rating Program

Print

In addition to inspecting all 314 bridges annually, the Summit County Engineer's office has "load rated" 143 of our bridges in the last four years. Load rating takes the measure of the live load capacity that can be safely held by the bridge.  Summit County has 168 bridges qualifying for Bridge Load Rating funds through the Federal Highway Administration.  We are currently on the 4th round of project funding. 100% of SCE bridges qualify for the FHWA program will be load rated by October of 2013.
