Project Location: The Bridge No. AKR-010-0208 is located on E. North Street over the Little Cuyahoga River approximately 300 feet west of the intersection with Arlington Street in the City of Akron.
Description of Work: This project involves reconstruction of the existing E. North Street Bridge No. AKR-010-0208 over the Little Cuyahoga River with similar alignment and profile and minimal approach work. The project also includes application of new pavement markings, new approach guardrail and traffic control devices. New bridge sidewalks on the north and south sides is also included in the reconstruction. Temporary pavement will be required for maintenance of traffic.
Maintenance of Traffic: Traffic will be maintained during construction using part-width construction.

Status: Programming Package including LPA Project Scope, Project Location Map, BM-191, BR-86 and LPA Participation Requirements Review Form forwarded to ODOT D4 on July 11, 2008. Field Review Meeting conducted on July 10, 2008. Summit County Engineer Request for Technical Proposal transmitted to five short listed design consultants on March 20, 2008 and were received on April 11, 2008. The Technical Proposal consultant evaluations were completed on May 16, 2008 with QBS consultant notification of June 11, 2008. Technical Approach & Fee Proposal renegotiations complete on August 13, 2009. Prior to contract execution, the project was postponed on November 26, 2008 and authorized to proceed on June 16, 2010. The Preliminary Engineering is due October 28, 2010.
